Coming Full Circle
Greg and Misty Pursell were working on their own Habitat home a year ago during the 2009 Build-a-Thon. Today Greg was found in the back yard of A Brush with Kindness home as one of the House Leaders. The three-story home was in desperate need of repairs, housing a family of birds as well as the owners. Today it stands as proud as ever with a crisp coat of blue paint and white trim, repaired windows and painted steps leading up to the home where a toddler played outside.
Greg grinned, ear to ear, explaining, "It was my time last year, and now it's time for a new Habitat homeowner to shine. I want to do whatever I can to help these folks." That is the sentiment of many of our current Habitat homeowners who are now Family Support Partners, House Leaders or volunteering on the builds. We are proud to call them our Habitat Family.
